Stanford BASES is piloting a non-dilutive funding program to support early-stage, pre-revenue startups formed by its members, in partnership with Xfund.

Selected companies may receive up to $10,000 in funding to support early experimentation and company formation. Funds are provided without expectation of equity and may be used at the company’s discretion.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Use of Funds

Teams can use grants for things like:

Hardware expenses

CNC mills, 3D printers, components, prototyping materials, and other hardware expenses.

Model costs

API token credits, GPU credits, GPU expenses, cloud infrastructure, and other model costs.

Legal costs

C Corporation formation, terms of service agreements, and other early legal expenses.

Advertising

Google Ads and other early advertising or customer acquisition expenses.

These examples are not exhaustive. Funds may be used at the company’s discretion.
